The firm
A law firm that operates as a programme
We work on software licence compliance and copyright protection across the Spanish-speaking countries. We are lawyers, data analysts and investigators inside one structure, because the work demands it.
What we do
NVA Legal Compliance acts on behalf of software rights holders. We verify unlicensed use of their products, identify the responsible organisation, open the conversation and carry it through to regularisation. When that route is exhausted, we escalate in the appropriate jurisdiction.
We work mainly with technical and engineering software: the companies we deal with are technical, and the dialogue holds together on data rather than on generic appeals to compliance.
The firm is organised from its head office in Bogotá, with its own offices and associated firms across the region. That structure is what keeps the conversation local and what allows a matter, if it escalates, to do so before the authority of the country.
How we work
Four principles we do not trade away
Regularisation before penalty
The outcome we pursue is a compliant company that carries on working with a valid licence. Legal action exists for the cases where nothing else works, not as a starting point.
No communication without verification
Before writing to an organisation we verify its legal identity, the detected use and the period. No claim goes out from an automated data match.
No communication without a named person behind it
We automate verification, prioritisation and notification; never judgement. Every communication is issued under the responsibility of a named professional, with a direct route to reach them, and no decision on a case is taken automatically.
Confidentiality toward every party
The usage data we receive and the files we open are not shared outside the programme. Regularisation is a private matter between the parties.
Presence
Head office in Bogotá and offices across the region
Coverage is not a list of countries on a slide: in every territory there is a firm that practises in it.
